Root Down to Rise Up
We Root Down by connecting to the muscles in the legs and core to find an inner spiral in the body. With the inner spiral engaged, we use the core and the bandhas to Rise Up, to lengthen the spine and to create more space in the body to breathe. With an ease of breath, sometimes poses that once seemed impossible are more accessible so we'll explore arm balances and twists while maintaining the space we've created for the breath. OPTIONAL PROPS: Block, strap, bolster or blanket
Create Tapas With Back Bending and Core
Santosha means contentment in Sanskrit it is the second of the 5 niyamas in yoga. We practice finding Santosha in Core strengthening, twisting, and balancing postures which focus on the core.
Lengthen Strengthen & Restore
We begin this class by lengthening the muscles that are often tense and can cause low back problems. After finding and understanding these muscles, we move to strengthening the core and outer hips through various standing poses and vinyasa. Finally, from the inner heat we've built and the deeper understanding of the body, we return to poses that lengthen and stretch our major muscles groups. A great class if you are experiencing low back pain. *Please soften the knees and don't fold completely in forward bends if you are experiencing Sciatica or Piriformis Syndrome. SUGGESTED PROPS: a bolster or rolled up blanket
Hamstrings & Hips Flow
This is the class for you when you need to de-stress and find clarity. We will move slowly and mindfully to calm the central nervous system. After warming up with moon salutations we will flow through some mandala namaskars (circular salutations) to open the hips and get out of analytical thinking. We will incorporate some standing balancing poses and hamstring openers before progressing to hanumanasana (splits). After a peaceful savasana, you will feel like a new yogi!
Twist and Detox
This class will help detox and de-stress the physical and mental body. Releasing toxins built up in the body by twisting throughout our flow. Bring your breath and that will increase your detox experience. SUGGESTED PROPS: 1 or 2 Blocks
Open Your Eyes To a New Way of Doing Things!
Feel the difference by empowering the body and mind using blocks to do down dog, plank and up dog. We will stand on a block for Warrior 3 to experience the pose from a different perspective. Elevate the body and the spirit by being several inches off the ground. PROPS: 2 Blocks
Find Your Center with Natarajasana
Royal Dancer and King Pigeon open your heart, clear the clutter and will help you find your center. OPTIONAL PROPS: 1 Block, 1 Strap
Spring Flight
This practice opens us up to releasing negativity and feelings of being stuck. We will use yoga poses to open up our body and mind to create a feeling of a flower opening to the brilliant light of the sun.
Sun Salutations
Sun Salutations, or Surya Namaskar can help your practice feel like a slow dance of conscious movement dedicated to help energize your body, thoughts and presence. This class will contain basic salutes and will lead up to more intricate salutes. Good for day or night. OPTIONAL PROPS: 1 Block
Yin-Yang
This class will begin with 50 minutes of yang (heat building) poses followed by 25 minutes of long deep restorative holds. The perfect combination. SUGGESTED PROPS: 1 Block, 1 Bolster
Earthy and Airy
As we move through a heat building sequence we will awaken the heart chakra: the bridge between our roots and our dreams. Strengthening the body and mind as we make space for our divine light and love that resides in the heart, opening us up to our true potential. OPTIONAL PROPS: 1 Block, Strap
Bust Stress
This sequence focuses on the areas where we tend to hold stress (shoulders, back, hips, thighs.) As you progress through this sequence the poses and pranayama (breathing techniques) will help your body and mind emerge refreshed! OPTIONAL PROPS: 1 Block, 1 Bolster, Strap
