Restorative yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Restorative yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. The poses are held longer to help restore and relax the body. Restorative yoga is known to calm the nervous system, lower blood pressure, improve digestion, and reduce insomnia, fatigue and cortisol levels, also known as stress hormones.
